The Terry Family Scholarship Fund, originally known as the Moses and Hannah Scholarship Fund, was conceived by Della Hendricks of Inkster, Michigan.  Della contacted several other interested family members and the first meeting was held in her home in January of 1987.  Officers were elected and objectives and goals for the scholarship committee were established. It was decided that the scholarship committee would give at least one scholarship to a deserving family member at the biennial family reunion.  Eligible students were identified as those who had successfully completed at least one year at a college or other institution of higher education.

Connie Terry of Chicago, Illinois, made the first donation to the scholarship fund.  Through the years, the scholarship committee has held many fundraising events to help sustain this fund. The first fundraiser was a dinner dance held at Pullum’s Place in Detroit, Michigan. Various other fundraisers coupled with generous donations from members of the Terry Family have allowed the scholarship fund to grow and flourish.

Donations to the scholarship fund will be gladly accepted at any time.
